Have A Google-Doodle Birthday
September 27 marks the birthday of Google, a multinational public cloud computing, Internet search, and advertising technologies corporation. The company was founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin and was officially incorporated in 1998. Google turns 12 today and celebrate it with a new doodle.
Google has always been very innovative in carving their doodles and thus, providing information to the world. The new Doodle is a painting of a cake with a candle on it which represents ‘L’ of Google. Simple to understand and decipher unlike the ‘Bucky Ball’ doodle which marked the 25 anniversary of the discovery of the bucky ball.
The painting is made by 89-year-old Los Angeles artist Wayne Thiebaud carrying an accreditation that it is used with the permission of Visual Artists and Galleries Association (VAGA) New York.
Clicking on the Doodle does not take you to something specific but opens up search result for Google.
A very happy birthday to the giant search engine, Google, and thanking it for sharing information from around the world.
The ‘Instant’, A Catalyst for Google and YouTube
Google has finally unveiled and launched its Google Instant, a speedy new search offering that lets users search as they type. The search engine technology with Google Instant, predicts the queries of the users before them.
It’s real time search predicts the search query on the basis of popular demand. Google Instant presents its predictions before the user clicks on the search button. For instance, if the user type in the letter ‘W’ then the instant search engine on popular demand will take in the query to be ‘Weather’ and immediately shoot weather results. Well that’s speed.
Thinking about rest of the alphabets? Google has interesting predictions for other letters as well.
Google Instant picks up your query as you start typing with it, but this is not so much available if you are in a naughty mood. So you would not be obliged with search results if you type in the words which are vulgar in nature. You would have to search that on your own, while the page appears blank.
When asked about the impotency with sexy words of the instant search at the Q&A session , happened in the previous week, Google’s Johanna Wright, director of product management for Instant, responded that Instant Search’s inability to predict your sexy queries is actually a safety feature to protect children.
So if you think Google Instant is cool, then you really need to see YouTube Instant. A novelty toy built by a college student (Feross Aboukhadijeh of Stanford University), to provide much entertainment.
and not to forget the element of titillation.
YouTube Instant works on similar lines, it provides updated results as the user types, only in this case it’s the YouTube video that gets updated.
So how instantly you wanna try out the ‘Instant’? Do tell us your views.

Mashable Social Media Day hosted by Bloggers’ Mind
June 30 was a remarkable day as Social Media Day was celebrated in full zeal. The Delhi chapter of the Mashable meetup was hosted by Bloggers’ Mind at the scintillating and ethnic Kunzum travel cafe constituting all social media enthusiasts wanting to interact. Savoring the aroma of coffee the celebrations took off.
First step in socializing, introdution. The day started with the introduction session wherein the members introduced themselves. Most of the were active bloggers while others were college students wanting to know about Social Media.
Songita B Verma led the event forward with her immaculate introduction on Social Media and even shared her own experiences while putting forth her opinion.
Songita rightly concluded, ” there isn’t any expert“. The brevity in these words made people more inquisitive and people participated in full swing. The event was also streamed live via ustream.
Then we had Clinton Jeff with his spirited talks about his website and other forums and communities. He gave us a quick run through on how Social Media can be vital to the growth of a Blog, regardless of which field it might be in. Examples given were a Technology blog (ZOMGitsCJ.com), a Fashion Blog, etc.
Next we had Harish Shankaran from Slideshare who gave enlightening presentation on the reach of Social Media.
In the meanwhile the participants were served with the Kunzum special coffee with mouth watering cookies.
Bloggers Mind concluded the celebration with the cake cutting and thus completing the Happy Social Media Day in its true sense.
The Bloggers Mind team are thankful to all the people who were able to make it and were part of the celebration. Cheers to all and we would love to do it again another time, until then keep socializing!
We’ll have videos up soon, so stay tuned!
